As you may know, the state of Oregon turned 150 years old on Valentine’s Day of this year. As part of the celebration, Oregon 150 has put out a very cool website celebrating our sesquicentennial. (Say that five times quickly!) You can also follow them on Twitter. (For more on Twitter and its patented awesomeness, see Holli’s post.)
On Arbor Day, I was planting some trees in Beaverton, and they gave me this very cool token burned with the Oregon 150 logo. I display it proudly on my desk.
Back in March, I was given the opportunity to spend the day at the capitol building, and was actually wowed (and I am not one to wow easily despite my incredible enthusiasm for most things). I highly recommend going there and getting a tour of the building to learn a little something new about Oregon’s history. Please take a moment to enjoy some photos of the building…
So, as I plan my next celebratory adventure (all in the name of Oregon, of course), I was wondering what my fellow Oregon residents were doing to make their own mark during this special year. Tell me, what do you have planned? I would love to hear about it.
