Dear Eugene,
I just wanted to say thank you. I have spent a lot of time with you lately, and it has been fantastic!
You have fed me well. Whether it has been burgers at North Bank (Communication Breakdown, indeed. Too busy eating that deliciousness to talk.) Enjoying fries while at the Ems game, or enchiladas at Los Dos Amigos, I have been pleased. I also enjoyed Hop Valley in Springfield, but I didn’t want to get any city sibling rivalry issues so we will just leave it at that.
Speaking of the Ems game… Kristin had told me about your amazing stadium, (and Thea offered up tickets for our Facebook fans to go for free) and experiencing it first hand was capital A amazing, awesome, and did I say amazing? Ok, well, it was worth repeating. There’s something about a warm summer evening, good friends (BAM!), and the aforementioned fries coupled with America’s pastime. It’s the recipe for good memories.
But it wasn’t all food and baseball. I got to experience Alton Baker Park, with the lazy winding river. Perfect way to spend an afternoon plotting and planning on ways to make That’s So Northwest a better place to visit. Just know that you will have played a part in making TSNW even better.
Then there’s the library. I am a bit of a self proclaimed nerd, so walking into that oasis of book-y goodness was a little slice of nirvana (but not the Kurt Cobain kind). Let’s pause a moment and just savor, shall we. And if books don’t completely wet your culture whistle, I know first hand how off the charts the Hult Center is. We didn’t get any quality time together this visit, but we have had good times before.
Before I wrap up this up, there is one more aspect of you I have to point out. The people. What a friendly city! It was like a collective group hug just being there, but without the creepy factor.
You have been so good to me, and it makes me want to come back for more. But, I have to wonder. What’s in store for me next?
Warmest regards,
Brian
PS In case you were wondering, I took these photos of you.
