Well we made it back safe and sound from Bend Winterfest last weekend and may I just say how awesome it was? Thank you, IT WAS AWESOME! To sum it up I thought I’d offer up my top 10 best moments at Winterfest. Drumroll please…
10.) The drive! Technically this isn’t part of Winterfest but going from the valley to Central Oregon is such a beautiful drive. It was also my 1st ever time seeing Sisters! What an adorable town. It seriously belongs on a postcard…someone probably already thought of that.
9.) Sunriver: My family stayed at a house in Sunriver with some friends and as always it was awesome. Pool table, hot tub, ping pong table and air hockey were included in the house and it was SO much cheaper than getting a hotel room and much more comfortable! Check it out when you get a chance!
8.) Arriving at Winterfest: The moment we arrived at Winterfest was amazing. I felt so much pride when I saw Northwest Community on all the banners. To be able to be a part of that is something I’ll always be grateful for.
7.) Getting to know you: We had the opportunity to meet SO many amazing people in Bend. Not only were we able to meet fellow sponsors but we were able to meet people in the community. A handshake can make a connection that nothing else can and what an opportunity this was.
6.) McMenamin’s Old St. Francis School: This place was just adorable and of course the food and beverage were stellar. If you’re in the Bend area it is a must see. It doesn’t get better than cozying up to this pot bellied stove while mowing down a good garden burger.
5.) Winterfest on the river: The weather totally cooperated (until Sunday that is) and the sky was gorgeous Friday night.
4.) The Robber Baron: Marne and Matt, both from NWCU’s rockin’ marketing department, took turns dressing up as the Robber Baron to chit chat with people (and polar bears) about the Credit Union difference.
3.) Mt Bachelor: I had the opportunity to escape to the mountain while I was there and the conditions were so sweet. Friday was a blizzardy, powder riding day and Monday was a sunny, summit riding day. I couldn’t ask for more. It was absolutely radical.
2.) Hanging with my awesome work peeps: I had a blast hanging out with some of the coolest people ever. Matt, Brian (as Frosty), Jason, and Marne were so super cool to hang with and it made this trip just perfect. Oh and just kidding Brian was taking the picture, Frosty is just Frosty.
1.) The Rail Jam: I know, surprise surprise. It’s the snowboarder in me that makes this my favorite but to see people drop from this high, do a back flip, land it and then pop onto a rail is SO inspiring.
Thanks to Northwest Community for sponsoring this awesome event! I can’t wait to go back!
