Getting Ready & Gearing Up

Well everyone the time is here.  The snow is falling and the lifts are running.  Snowboard & ski season have arrived!  Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced rider staying warm and comfortable on the mountain is the KEY to your happiness.  Here are a few of my favorite things!  For all you gents out there don’t worry, I polled some guy shredders about their faves and I am sharing them below!

for the ladies

It all starts with your BASE LAYER.  I swear by the Burton midweight pants and shirts.  These keep me toasty no matter how deep I get in the snow!  Now that you’re all cozy on the inside let’s make sure that heat stays in!  There are SO many different coats, pants, and suits to pick from and this was SUPER difficult to pick some faves but here’s what’s worked for me.

Special Blend Fluff Insulated Jacket (Closeout) - view large

I just got this Special Blend coat and I love it.  It’s insulated, 10,000 mm waterproof, and has lots of cozy down to keep you warm!

Burton Maiden Denim Snowboard Pants

These are the Burton LTD Maiden Gore Tex pants.  I have tried 6 different pants since I’ve started riding and these are by far the best.  warm + waterproof = wicked awesome

for the gents

Again, first layer muy importante.  And again I went with the Burton Midweight Pants and Shirt.

This is from the Burton White Collection.  It’s gotten major props from some pretty hard core riders and it LASTS!

for BOTH!

This is the Burton one piece suit.  No snow can find it’s way down your backside with this thing on!

I want to make sure I don’t give you the wrong impression.  I know most of my faves are predominantly Burton but I also love Grenade for a nice lightweight coat and pant, Roxy for the cutest gear out there, and Special Blend for affordable and super stylin’ gear.  Have fun on the mountain and be safe!  Be sure to share your favorite board/ski tips below so we can all share!  Remember sharing is caring!

Jen - Definitely like the recomendations. I have yet to try the Burton first layer but I might this year. Even the move from wool sock to the burton's was a huge step up last year!

Can't wait till Saturday! Should be a good season!
