Have a Ball.

Well Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow today and so it means we’ll be blessed with 6 more wonderful weeks of winter!  Winter + more winter = a very happy Jen.  Now I know to a lot of you out there that’s not necessarily the same result.  You want flowers, sunshine, and warm nights.  Well in case I haven’t persuaded you to hit the snow yet there are still options to avoid cabin fever this winter.  For example, check out your local recreational sports league and get back in touch with your dodgeball self!

Here in the Willamette Valley we have Playground Sports.  You can sign up for kickball, basketball, dodgeball, bowling and volleyball!  Remember all those sports from back in elementary P.E. days?  I do!  I remember standing on the wall and never being picked for dodgeball because I couldn’t catch a ball and I gotta admit I want a little payback.  So I think I’m gonna sign up.

Ya know there’s a reason why P.E. is required when we’re young and in school.  It’s because it’s good for us to get our energy out, keep our energy up and be healthy!  Why should that stop when we grow up?  Let’s keep playing!

So what’s your favorite playground sport?  Mine is definitely tetherball!  I ruled!  Not as much as Napoleon here but I was pretty darn good.

Tag was always my favorite. "You can't catch me!" (Now you could b/c I'm old, but back in the day....)

Oh, Hide and seek is another favorite, especially in the dark!

My favorite was Hand Ball... Ohhhh the bloody knuckles we used to get. When the walls weren't being used for Hand Ball or Kick Ball, we'd play Annie Annie Over. In that one, we had to be careful not to trample one another. Hehe... good times. ;-)

I loved them all. I just loved running around and feeling invincible.

Foursquare, by far! :) Although swings are awesome when I am not feeling social. (Whoops, was that not in past tense?)
