Whatcha doing this weekend? Any chance you're headed to Bend, Oregon? It's the Northwest Community Balloons Over Bend weekend, June 6th and 7th, 2009! What's better than early mornings, the sky filled with Hot Air Balloons, and some random Balloon History? All that and the Bike Blender.

Northwest Community is sponsoring the event and you guessed it. The BICYCLE BLENDER will be there serving up free, healthy smoothies in a compostable cup, yup!
Did you know that the first American balloon flight was in Philadelphia on January 9, 1794? And that Hot Air Ballooning requires a calm, cool climate with wind at 10mph or less. Click here for more fun and lofty Ballooning facts.
Balloons Over Bend will also have Live Music, all sorts of events including dance, street painting, face painting, pony rides, a beer garden and of course, Hot Air Balloon launches. Stick around for Night Glow, at dusk on Saturday night at the Les Schwab Amphitheater, where a select few of the Balloons will be laid out and inflated for your up close and personal enjoyment.
Stop by the Northwest Community booth and say hi to Marne (Member Communications Manager) and Kristen (NWCU Volunteer Extraordinaire) and tell them the That's So Northwest Gang sent you!
If you are there and snap some good pictures, send them to us at hello@thatssonorthwest.com and we will post them!
