The Story of Stuff

The Story of Stuff crossed my computer screen some time ago. I learned SOOO much. So in light of Brian’s recent post about the GreenLane event and our recent appearance at the Good Earth Home Show I thought the timing would be … perfect to share this with you now.

The Story of Stuff is a 20 minute fast-paced, fact filled excursion through the journey our “Stuff” takes from extraction through sale, use and disposal. It makes connections between a variety of environmental, economic, and social issues.

This is just a teaser of the video. To see the full version go here.

Be sure to check out the Story of Cap and Trade while you are at it!

Let me know what you think!

I LOVED this video! I saw it a while back and it made me re-think the way I live and consume. I'm glad you posted it! =)

Engineer/inventor all-around wise man, Buckminster Fuller explained the cost of stuff well many years ago. If you don't know the name, you certainly know some of his inventions like the Geodesic Dome! He was a real renaissance man...someone who was able to see the truth in things the rest of us take for granted.

The real cost of things Fuller explained in his system called "cosmic cost accounting." Look it up. It will give you a sense of his genius.
